Police Search for Two Young Children Reported Taken by Mother in Southwest D.C.

WASHINGTON — District police are searching for an 11-month-old girl and her 2-year-old brother who were last seen Friday afternoon in Southwest Washington and whom investigators believe were taken by their mother.

Ani’ah Thompson, 11 months, and Angelo Thompson, 2, were last seen shortly before 2 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Capitol Street SW, according to a Metropolitan Police Department bulletin.

Police identified their mother as Tiffany Baker. The department described the case as a kidnapping investigation, but the available bulletin did not explain the custody circumstances or identify any criminal charge filed against Baker.

Ani’ah was last seen wearing dark pants, a red-and-white jacket and white sneakers and was in a black stroller. Angelo was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and dark sneakers. Baker was last seen wearing a purple-and-pink shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Police asked anyone with information about the children’s whereabouts to call investigators at 202-576-6768. Their location had not been independently confirmed at the reporting cutoff.
