DC Makes Arrests in Fatal GWU Stabbing and Rush Hour Union Station Shooting.

WASHINGTON, DC — February 5, 2026: Metropolitan Police investigate a fatal stabbing in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C. An adult male was pronounced dead at Miriam’s Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that assists the homeless. The incident marks the city’s fourth homicide of 2026.

WASHINGTON– The Metropolitan Police Department announced mulitple arrests on Saturday, including the arrest of a suspect for homicide in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood earlier this week.

Jose Perez of no fixed address, was charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed following the fatal attack at Miriam’s Kitchen near the campus of George Washington University on Thursday. Police have yet to identify the victim pending next of kin notifications.

On Friday, shots rang out near Union Station involving a large group of teenagers. One was struck in the ankle and two other boys, age 16 and 17, were detained by US Capitol Police, Amtrak Police, with assistance from the National Guard.

An MPD K9 officer located a firearm near the scene. The victim, age 15, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
