At approximately 9:32 p.m., members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location after a report of a pedestrian being struck. Upon arrival, they located an adult female victim in the roadway, unconscious and unresponsive. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The pedestrian fell and was struck by the truck and dragged to the 2800 block of New York Avenue. There, a Chevrolet Suburban, also traveling eastbound, subsequently struck the pedestrian. Both drivers remained on the scene.
