Washington – A two‑alarm house fire swept through a three‑story rowhouse on Seaton Place NW in the Bloomingdale/Truxton Circle neighborhood just before dusk on Wednesday, leaving residents shaken but unharmed.

Officials with the DC Fire and EMS Department confirmed the initial “box alarm” was sounded at 6:39 p.m., reporting flames on all floors in the rear of the structure . The department later elevated the response to a second alarm, deploying additional fire crews to contain the blaze, bring 25 units to the scene and over 120 firefighters. Additional resources from Maryland and Ft. McNair were called in to backfill DC fire stations while firefighters battled the blaze.

Investigators were on the scene assessing damage and working to determine the fire’s cause. No injuries were reported.
