WASHINGTON – A man armed with a handgun attempted to rob three people at a Northwest Washington skate park, demanding $20 from each before fleeing empty-handed in a waiting vehicle, according to D.C. police.
The incident occurred at the Shaw Skate Park, where video of the encounter has since circulated widely on social media.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect approached three victims while displaying a handgun and demanded that each hand over $20. Police said the victims did not comply, and the suspect fled the area without taking any property.
Investigators said the suspect ran to a gray Lexus sedan that was waiting nearby before leaving the scene.
No injuries were reported.
