DC Police Release Photo of Additional Suspect in Attempted Carjacking of former DOGE employee

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking additional individuals in connection with an attempted unarmed carjacking that occurred early Sunday morning on Swann Street NW.

According to police, two 15-year-olds from Hyattsville, Maryland—a boy and a girl—have been arrested and charged with unarmed carjacking. The incident took place around 3 a.m., when the suspects allegedly approached two individuals standing near a parked vehicle, demanded the keys, and assaulted one of the victims.

Officers in a marked patrol cruiser arrived on the scene in the middle of the attack, prompting several suspects to flee on foot. Two of the suspects were apprehended at the scene, while others remain at large.

The victim, identified by former colleagues as Edward Coristine, a former employee of the Department of Government Efficiency, suffered injuries during the attack and was treated by emergency medical services.

The investigation is being led by the Carjacking Taskforce, a joint operation involving MPD detectives and agents from the FBI’s Washington Field Office. Authorities have released surveillance images of a person of interest and are asking the public for help in identifying those involved.

Anyone with information is urged to call the police tip line or send an anonymous text. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to arrests and convictions.
