Electrical Fire Near Stadium-Armory Disrupts Metro Service

Washington, D.C. — An electrical fire on the elevated track bed near the Stadium-Armory Metro station caused significant service disruptions on Tuesday evening. DC Fire and EMS reported the incident around 6:30 p.m., describing it as a “small fire” on the elevated tracks.

Metro officials confirmed that the fire led to a significant service disruption, with crews working overnight to address the issue. As of Wednesday morning, service has been restored, and trains are operating on a regular schedule. 

No injuries were reported, and Metro has not yet disclosed the cause of the fire. Commuters are advised to check for real-time updates on Metro’s official channels.
